lifethrucrystallizedeyes: Your MBTI comparisons are great and very informative! I was wondering what your take would be between ISFJ & INFJ :)

Thank you! Glad you find them that way!

These two types (ISFJs and INFJs) share in common a disposition to quietly, responsibly and diligently help others. In some ways they are rescuers. They tend to be drawn to or find it difficult to turn their back on people going through difficulties - specially when it seems like nobody else is doing much about it. In this type of cases giving their time and energy doesn’t feel so much like a sacrifice, but as something they genuinely want to do and feel right doing. This may go on for as long as it shows to be at least potentially fruitful, and remove themselves from this dynamic once they are able to feel they’ve done their part or can no longer help. Where the ISFJ may be more inclined to tend to practical affairs to keep from having more troubles piling up, the INFJ may be more inclined to tend to finding and suggesting alternatives to move through and out of current difficulties.

A person exhibiting traits and behaviors typically attributed to INFJs, who happens to be more of an ISFJ (whose primary four functions are Si Fe Ti Ne) could be a case of a pronounced mystical quality. Since ISFJs pair their dominant sensing function with feeling, it’s not too unusual to find them merging their vast library of knowledge (Si) with the rich meaning that they perceive through feeling (Fe), resulting as someone whose presence is and feels highly spiritual. Theorizing, however, may not be an activity they would prioritize, preferring to firstly take in life through what can be more firmly conceived (Si).

A person exhibiting traits and behaviors typically attributed to ISFJs, who happens to be more of an INFJ (whose primary four functions are Ni Fe Ti Se) could be a case of steadily-paced consistency. INFJs live primarily in the world of ideas and are often searching for what could be on the other side, however, once they’ve found a project that appropriately aligns with what matters to them, with their dreams and their values, they will work hard in an almost dutiful way. The rules they set themselves will come through their sense of ethics (Fe) and their logical framework (Ti), keeping their wild intuition from sabotaging their efforts in the whim of their imagination and instead direct it to furthering their progress (Ni).

Some behaviors that can be found more often in one type than the other would be:
ISFJs are more likely to feel at home with traditions. (“Come, let me show you our photo album. This was the first day of school. We tried so hard to find the uniform clothes that fit best and our grandmother insisted on this hair-bow! We had for breakfast what our mother’s favorite!”)
INFJs are more likely to feel at home with dreams. (“Ahh! And I’ll bring the fruit baskets, and we can sit under the tree and enjoy the warm breeze and the lovely view as we share with each other our deepest secrets and aspirations!”)

ISFJs are more likely to
get through routines for how they’ve been established. (“It’s an hour before lunch time. We better start cooking now to be on time.”)
INFJs are more likely to get through routines for what’s at stake. (“If we don’t eat on time, we’ll lack energy in the afternoon and then we won’t be able to go to that place at 2:00pm or would have to eat out, and that would complicate things more and in the end we’ll waste a lot of time and energy on problems that wouldn’t be there if we just ate on time. Also, you could get a headache.”)

ISFJs are more likely to
recall specific information within an idea. (“But wasn’t the date of that event 1987, and not 1992?”)
INFJs are more likely to recall how one point ties to another within an idea. (“This happened before that; it was part of what caused it.”)

ISFJs are more likely to
appear stubborn when not sufficient factual evidence has been shown to change their minds. (“That’s not what studies have shown…”)
INFJs are more likely to appear stubborn when their ideas are not fully understood. (“But don’t you see? *describes abstract reasoning for a while before deciding it’s useless to as others don’t care to grasp its possibility* “Nevermind…”)

ISFJs are more likely to
have little trouble with repetitive, practical tasks, and take up many. (“I don’t understand what’s so hard about this. You just have to go ahead and take care of it and then it’s done. Then you have free time to do the things you like.”)
INFJs are more likely to tackle repetitive, practical tasks because they absolutely have to be done, and delegate some if possible- if not add or find more dimension to them. (“This is something spiritual. I am grounding myself. I am in the present, manifesting the force of the universe through a scaled down version of its magnificence. Everything is a cycle. You should try it too.”)

And so on…

The choice of a NT Conceptualist mate seems to hold the best promise of success for Idealists. But since the NTs are such a small percentage of the general population, it is often difficult for an Idealist to even find an NT. The basis of their successful compatibility is that NFs and NTs both…

With Traditionalist mates Idealists find a comfortable, reassuring stability and dependability in the home, traits which give the somewhat scattered NFs a feeling of solid earth beneath their feet. SJs also have a firmly fixed moral center-a sure sense of Right and Wrong-that Idealists, so often…

This is me and my mom tbh

Dominant (Ni) - Faith in their vision, committed to a long-term plan, synthesizes information thoroughly.

Auxiliary (Fe) - Makes speech appropriate for the situation, assisting people by impacting their feelings.

Tertiary (Ti) - Sometimes conceded with technical accuracy, can be pedantic…

INFJs’ Auxiliary Function: Extraverted Feeling (Fe)

INFJs use Extraverted Feeling (Fe) as their auxiliary function. As the most interpersonal of all the functions, Fe is attuned to surveying and improving interpersonal feelings and morale. Like other FJ types, INFJs work to cultivate “good…

too true

The INFP is the moral exemplar. With introverted feeling (Fi), otherwise known as subjective ethics, and extroverted intuition (Ne), otherwise known as objective intuition, INFPs often live in a realm of morality and self criticism. They are very aware of their identities, and strive to maintain…

not-very-friendly reminder that when you watch porn you can’t know for sure if the actors were coerced or mistreated or underpaid or if they consented to everything

decidedly unfriendly reminder that there’s a very good chance that the above is exactly what’s going on

and if you continue to consume porn of ANY kind you are accepting this as operating cost
